The makers decided that it would be too much of a safety hazard to have Kota move forward. Kids of that age have not developed enough balance to warrant the risk of movement forward, which is fair enough. It is till a very cool toy though, it does so much. It has different play modes, it makes cool dinosaur noises, has touch sensors all over it's body and you can even feed it. Toys are getting so realistic it's crazy. If you are looking for a good price on one this xmas I would recommend this website. It has really good info on the Kota Triceratops and some good deals too.
